Outgrowing our space is a blessing and an invitation to trust God’s provision. The growth of Axiom Church is a reflection of what God is already doing in and through our church family. As we outgrow our current space, we see this moment as an opportunity to steward what God has entrusted to us and to expand our capacity to serve, gather, and reach more people for His Kingdom.

By expanding our capacity, Axiom Church is positioned to serve Midland and beyond with greater reach and effectiveness. This campaign enables us to be more welcoming, and more intentional as we invest in people and point them toward Jesus.

WHY A BUILDING CAMPAIGN?

Why is Axiom Church launching a building campaign now?

God has been growing Axiom in people, ministries, and stories of life change. Our current space is limiting how many people we can serve, disciple, and reach. This campaign is about preparing for what God is already doing and what He is calling us to next.

What problem or need does this new building solve?

Right now, we are running out of room for worship, kids, youth, groups, and community gatherings. The new building gives us space to serve people better, welcome guests well, and create environments where stories can be changed by Jesus.

How does this building support Axiom’s mission of “Every Story Matters”?

A building doesn’t change lives, Jesus does. But space creates opportunity. This building gives us more room for people to encounter Jesus, build relationships, and find healing, hope, and purpose.

Is this campaign about growth, comfort, or mission?

This campaign is about mission. Growth is a result of mission, and comfort is not the goal. We want to reach people who don’t know Jesus, disciple believers, and serve our community in meaningful ways.

How will this building help reach people who are not yet part of Axiom?

The building will allow us to welcome more people and families, expand kids and youth ministries, host community events, and create spaces where people feel safe asking questions about faith.

Why not stay in our current building long-term?

Our current building served us well, but it was never designed for the ministry God is doing now. Staying long-term would limit growth, reduce ministry opportunities, and restrict future outreach.

SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT & VISION

How does this project align with prayer and spiritual discernment?

This campaign is being guided by prayer, fasting, Scripture, and wise counsel. We are asking God to lead every decision and inviting the whole church to pray and seek Him together.

How does Ephesians 3:20 connect to this campaign?

Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God can do more than we can ask or imagine. This building is a step of faith, trusting God’s vision for Axiom is bigger than what we can currently see.

What does “A Place for Every Story Still Unfolding” really mean?

It means this building is for people. People who are searching, healing, growing, and discovering who God created them to be. Your story matters, and so does the story of someone who hasn’t walked through our doors yet.

How does this building reflect our values as a church?

The design focuses on community, connection, accessibility, and worship. It reflects our heart for people, relationships, discipleship, and outreach.

BUILDING DESIGN & CAPACITY

What kind of building are we constructing?

A modern, flexible worship and ministry space designed for worship, kids and youth ministry, community gatherings, and outreach.

Why was steel construction chosen?

Steel buildings are durable, cost-effective, and allow flexible, open spaces that can grow and change with ministry needs.

What will the new sanctuary be like?

The sanctuary is designed to feel welcoming, relational, and worship-focused where people feel connected to God and each other.

What does “sanctuary in the round” mean?

It means seating is arranged so people are closer together and more connected, rather than sitting far away in long rows like a theater. No one will be further away than they are in our current space from teaching and worship, and there will be no “back of the church.” The design helps everyone feel included, engaged, and part of the worship experience.

Why design the sanctuary so people face each other?

Because church is about people worshiping God together, not just watching a stage. Seeing each other reminds us we’re a family.

How many people will the sanctuary seat?

The sanctuary will seat 500 people at one time. With two services, we can welcome up to 1,000 people each Sunday, creating room for growth while staying relational.

Will the building feel too big or impersonal?

No. The design intentionally includes smaller gathering spaces and a relational worship environment so people still feel known and connected.

KIDS, SPACES & COMMUNITY AREAS

What is the plan for the Kids Zone?

The Kids Zone is designed to be safe, secure, and welcoming, with dedicated spaces for different age groups. Our goal is to help kids learn about Jesus in fun, age-appropriate ways while parents feel confident and secure.

What additional spaces will the building include?

Spaces for kids, youth, small groups, counseling, offices, hospitality, and community events.

 

What is the purpose of the café?

The café is a gathering space. A place to build relationships, invite friends, and create a welcoming environment for conversations and community.

Why include an industrial kitchen?

To support events, outreach, youth gatherings, funerals, weddings, and community meals—allowing us to serve people practically and relationally.

CONSTRUCTION LOGISTICS

Where will Sunday services be held during construction?

Sunday services will continue in our current space. We will communicate clearly and early if any changes are required.

Will church continue every Sunday during the build?

Yes. Church will continue every Sunday. Our mission and ministries do not pause during construction.

How long will construction take?

Construction is expected to take approximately 8 months from breaking ground to finish, depending on permits, weather, and contractor scheduling. We will provide regular updates.

COST, FINANCES & STEWARDSHIP

How much will the new building cost?

The total projected cost is $3.5 million.

What does the $3.5 million include?

This includes land development, building structure, interior build-out, utilities, site work, and required construction costs such as permits and design.

Does this include furnishings and equipment?

Some furnishings and equipment are included, but additional items (chairs, sound, kids equipment, décor, etc.) may be funded separately as the church grows.

Does Axiom currently owe anything on our property?

No. Because of the faith and obedience of previous generations at Axiom, our church and the 13 acres it sits on are fully owned with no debt. We are deeply grateful for their faithfulness, and we see this campaign as continuing that legacy for the next generation.

What was our total general offering last year?

$269,148.55

Will normal ministry continue during the campaign?

Yes. Regular tithes will continue to support current ministry, staff, missions, and operations. Campaign gifts are above and beyond normal giving.

Is everyone expected to give to the campaign?

No one is pressured to give. We invite everyone to pray and participate as God leads. Participation includes prayer, serving, inviting others, and giving if you’re able.

What if I am unable to give financially?

Your story and presence matter more than a dollar amount. Prayer, encouragement, inviting others, and serving are all powerful ways to participate.

Are gifts above and beyond regular giving?

Yes. Campaign gifts are separate from regular tithes and offerings, which continue to fund everyday ministry.

Will Axiom need to take out a loan?

We believe that God will provide what we need, we are praying we will be able to cover as much as possible for this new build through the generosity of our people. There is a strong chance a loan will be needed, the current plan is to see what is committed by our people celebration Sunday then explore options and needs for funding from there. 

What happens if the full amount is not raised?

Leadership will adjust responsibly by phasing the build, adjusting scope, or seeking additional funding. We will not move forward recklessly.

How will leadership remain accountable throughout the process?

We will provide regular updates, financial transparency, and oversight from elders, finance teams, and trusted advisors.

FUTURE GROWTH & MULTIPLICATION

What happens if we outgrow this building?

We will continue to seek God’s direction through multiple services, or planting new churches.

Why not just build a larger building now?

The size we are building will allow us to reach 1,000 people between two services a weekend. We believe this gives us plenty of room to grow. Then if we find ourselves growing beyond this that likely means we have many people from neighboring cities coming to our church, so in order to be more effective for the kingdom we would want to plant a church in those cities to serve that community better than we could by continuing to just gather people here.

What does it mean to plant another church instead of expanding?

Sometimes the best way to reach more people is not one huge church, but multiple churches in different communities. Church planting multiplies impact and keeps communities connected. 

What will happen to our current building?

Our current building will be repurposed for Kids Ministry on Sundays and Youth and Group Ministries during the week. This will give children, students, and small groups dedicated spaces designed for learning, connection, and discipleship, while keeping our new building focused on worship and community gathering.

SPIRITUAL FOCUS & PARTICIPATION

How should I be praying during this season?

Pray for wisdom, unity, generosity, faith, and that every decision honors Jesus and serves people. Pray for those who will one day walk into this building and meet Christ.

What does success look like spiritually, not just financially?

Success is stories changed by Jesus, people coming to faith, growing in discipleship, finding healing, and discovering purpose. A building is only successful if it helps people follow Jesus.
